Before assuming proposed new labour laws will return employment relationships to the past, business might do well to consider behaviour changes themselves to strengthen recruitment practices and manage workplace access, suggests Auckland Business Chamber CEO Michael Barnett.
Local Government is a crucial part of New Zealand’s society. Ratepayer’s equity in the 78 local authorities is a massive $113 billion – more than the net worth of central government assets and just short of the market capitalisation of all the companies on the NZ Stock Exchange.

Despite 10 years of debate and numerous reports, the issue of future local government funding still has to be addressed.
