On Wednesday 5 August at 11.00am, the NZPBC welcomes participants from across New Zealand and the Pacific to come together to discussion the prioritisation of a Pacific bubble.
The NZPBC strongly believes in the formation of this bubble and this was highlighted in our Open Letter to New Zealand Ministers on the 18th June 2020. A focus on a Pacific bubble would allow for the re-establishment of more productive two-way trade between New Zealand and the Pacific. This heavily aligns with the NZPBC’s values and visions and is what we strive for as a council.
Therefore we are inviting participation from private or public organisations and their members based in New Zealand or the Pacific, to come together and join the discussion around the benefits that may be drawn from the formation of a Pacific bubble. There may also be drawbacks or challenges that you as an individual see for the development and implementation of a Pacific bubble which is a key part of understanding the entire ecology of such a bubble. Thus, we are promoting a discussion format where multiple questions and opinions can be voiced about this key issue.
We are hoping to generate concluding recommendations that we can further present to the New Zealand government and the Forum of Economic Ministers Meeting to highlight why there needs to be a continued effort of prioritisation of the pacific bubble.
As a valued guest on our webinar, there will be an opportunity to post questions during the webinar or to send in your thoughts overall following the completion of the webinar. If you have any questions you would like to be considered by the speakers please feel free to send this in advance to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
