From Bias to Bullying

In this session, participants will gain an understanding of the neuroscience underpinning bias, and through discussion-based learning will be able to identify how we can recognise bias in ourselves as individuals, as well as begin to explore strategies to create change and help mitigate unconscious bias.

This will be the basis, from which we move to understand how bias can impact our actions, decisions and environments, and it’s role in influencing behaviour. This session will look at Bullying and its origins, differences and dynamics.

The workshop will cover:

  • Bias at work
  • Impacts of Bullying
  • Personal v Task related behaviour
  • Understanding the difference between Bullying and Harassment
  • An introduction to the types of Bully’s that exist and the dynamics they influence
  • Strategies for prevention and response to Bullying
  • Understanding the complaint process
  • Develop strategies to help you reflect on your own biases, judgments and thought processes
